The City of Tulsa on Thursday celebrated Arbor Day by planting two pine trees and four cypress trees at Centennial Park at Sixth Street and Peoria Avenue.
Tulsa celebrates Arbor Day the whole last week of March, but they've been busy planting trees for a few months -- 100 since the beginning of they year.
Tulsa's urban forester said everyone benefits.
"It reduces the amount of energy that your house will use by cutting the amount of sunlight from hitting our your house; it actually takes off pollutants from out of the air," Mike Perkins said.
Tulsa has also been a "Tree City USA" community for the past 20 years.
