Early Morning Tulsa Police Chase Ends With One Arrest

A police chase ended when the 17-year-old driver nearly drove off a steep embankment early Thursday morning.

It happened around 1 a.m. near 1st and Lewis.

Tulsa Police tried to pull over the driver of a pickup truck because of an expired tag, but the driver sped off.  He lost control a few blocks away and crashed into a fence just feet away from a steep embankment.

The fence stopped the pickup from landing on I-244 below.

Both the driver and his passenger ran off.

Tulsa Police were able to arrest the driver.  They say they found a small amount of drugs in the pickup truck. The passenger was never located.
