The University of Tulsa softball team picked up its fourth-straight win with a 6-0 shutout of the Arkansas Razorbacks Wednesday night in Fayetteville.
Skylar Swanson went 2-for-3 from the plate adding two RBI while Samantha Cobb was 2-of-4 with two runs batted in.
Swanson got the scoring started for Tulsa in the top of the first. With one runner aboard, Swanson struck a double to left center to score Jill Barrett from second and take the 1-0 lead.
In the fifth, TU's Cobb belted a two run home run to left field giving the Hurricane a 3-0 advantage.
The Golden Hurricane added some insurance runs in the seventh. Swanson flied out to center field, but scored Caitlin Everett from third. Then Lacey Middlebrooks doubled to right field to bring home Cobb. Later that inning, Emma Horton who was brought in to pinch run for Middlebrooks also scored after a muffed throw at first base giving TU a 6-0 lead.
Tulsa closed out the game with a three-up, three-down bottom of the seventh to take the road win over the Razorbacks.
Aimee Creger picked up the win for TU pitching all seven innings allowing only two hits and one walk while striking out nine.
Arkansas managed only two hits on the night while TU tallied 11.
The Golden Hurricane will return to action March 31 in Austin against the University of Texas at 11 a.m.
