The News On 6 has confirmed that Oral Roberts head coach Scott Sutton has withdrawn his name from consideration as the new head coach of the Tulsa Golden Hurricane.

Sutton provided this information to News On 6 Sports Director John Holcomb via text message on Tuesday.

Sutton has been the head coach for the Golden Eagles for 13 seasons, after working as an assistant coach with ORU for four seasons prior. In his time, Sutton has led Oral Roberts to four conference championships and three consecutive appearances in the NCAA tournament.

When Tulsa fired former head coach Doug Wojcik, Sutton was one of the first names to begin circulating for the vacancy. According to reports from the Washington Post, Sutton has interviewed with Nebraska and seeks to move to a "power conference."
