A man was hurt when the pickup truck he was riding in crashed into another pickup west of Sand Springs Monday night.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says an eastbound pickup slammed into the rear of a truck parked on the side of U.S. Highway 412 just east of 177th West Avenue just before midnight.

It took Sand Springs firefighters about 30 minutes to free the passenger, who was pinned in the wreckage.

Troopers say EMSA took the driver, 30-year-old Bryan Jenkins of Sapulpa, to a Tulsa hospital where he was treated and released.  His passenger, 22-year-old Ronald Carson of Tulsa, was flown to another Tulsa hospital where he was admitted in stable condition.

Eastbound 412 at the crash scene was closed for about an hour.
