One of music's biggest bands will show some country hospitality to the Oklahoma philanthropic community later this spring.
Country music supergroup Rascal Flatts will raise money for the Folds of Honor Foundation by performing a special concert at The Joint inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on May 28.
Tickets are $125 and go on sale April 12. All proceeds from ticket sales will go to Folds of Honor, which is based in Owasso. The foundation provides post-secondary educational scholarships for children and spouses of military service men and women killed or disabled while serving the country.
Rascal Flatts is comprised of lead vocalist Gary LeVox, bassist/vocalist Jay DeMarcus and guitarist/vocalist Joe Don Rooney, an Oklahoma native who was raised in Picher.
Since their musical debut in 2000, Rascal Flatts has produced seven consecutive studio albums at No. 1. They were the most-played country group on radio in 2011 and are the most-awarded country group of the past decade, earning more than 40 trophies.
To date, nearly 2,600 scholarships have been awarded through the Folds of Honor. There are currently more than one million dependents of military service men and women, 87 percent of whom do not qualify for educational assistance from the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs and other governmental programs.
