More Soldiers From 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Come Home This Weekend

The Oklahoma National Guard Office says a contingent of more than 300 soldiers from the 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team will return from Afghanistan and Kuwait Saturday and Sunday.

The Oklahoma National Guard Office says a contingent of more than 300 soldiers from the 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team will return from Afghanistan and Kuwait Saturday and Sunday.

The soldiers are expected to arrive at a hangar at Will Roger Air National Guard Base at 10 a.m. both days.

Nearly 2,200 Oklahoma Army National Guardsmen from the 45th deployed to Afghanistan in June and are currently in various stages of the de-mobilization process.

An additional 800 Oklahoma Guardsman from the 45th deployed to Kuwait at the same time and are also in the process of de-mobilization.

Will Roger Air National Guard base is located at Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City.

Former University of Oklahoma head football coach Barry Switzer and his wife Becky will attend the ceremony. Switzer will address the soldiers.
