A Tulsa based company is expanding its workforce and moving their corporate headquarters downtown.
ORS Nasco President Larry Davis said the company is hiring 60 new employees and relocating the main office to the Sun Building at 907 South Detroit.
ORS Nasco is a wholesale distributor of industrial tools. Davis says it's not uncommon for people to tell him they've never heard of his company.
"We're a quiet company. We sell directly to businesses, we never sell to the end customer," Davis said.
But ORS Nasco is planning to be more public - mainly because it needs to attract attention to get more employees.
The company has plans to hire 60 more employees this year for sales and customer service jobs.
"They're all good jobs. We have great benefits and there's opportunity here because we're growing," Davis said.
As part of the expansion, ORS Nasco is moving some employees into a new more visible corporate headquarters inside the Sun Building downtown, where they'll have 20,000 square feet.
They'll keep a similar sized office at the Tech Ridge office park, near 41st and Mingo; where there are still empty cubicles waiting for employees. The company also has an office and distribution center in Muskogee.
"We sell industrial products, and everything you can imagine from power tools to safety goggles to Gatorade, ladders, compressors," Davis said.
The Tulsa employees service clients wanting to buy items from their catalog of more than 150,000 products. But job applicants don't need to have industrial experience.
"What we're looking for is passionate people that truly care about what they do who are willing to learn and grow with the business. And we'll help invest in them and develop them," Davis said.
