A Tulsa mother is searching for answers in the death of her son.

Marty Caleb, 38, was shot to death on the first day of the blizzard last year. Police say he was robbed, then left to die in a snowy driveway.

Marty Caleb was not even supposed to be born. His mother was told she couldn't have any more children. But then she got pregnant with her second son.

"So, he was a gift from God. But God didn't take him away; ugly people took him away," said Terri Caleb, Marty's mother.

Terri is the first to say Marty, who most people called Mark, wasn't an angel. He'd served time in prison for marijuana, but she says he would give people the shirt off his back and moved back in to take care of his ailing parents.

"There's not ever going to be him coming by and saying ‘mom, I came by to give you a hug and a kiss.' That's the type of person he was," Terri said.

Last year on January 31st, 2011, Marty was ready for bed when he got a phone call. He told his mom a friend needed help fixing his car before the blizzard hit, so Marty got dressed, grabbed his tools and left.

That was around 9 p.m. At 4 a.m,, police were knocking on her door. Marty was dead before she got to the hospital.

"They shot him three times in the back of the head and once in the back of the shoulder. Everything was from behind. It was just ruthless," she said.

Police believe Marty was shot because he was robbed and fought back. He had a broken hand. His truck was missing and recovered about a week later near Owasso.

They say they're close to an arrest, but need a little more information. Marty's family is desperate for the killers to be caught.

"Here I am, 63 years old. I can't wait around 20-30 years for them to put somebody behind bars. And if they killed him, who's to say they can't kill somebody else," Terri said.

Terri is begging those who know what happened, to come forward. She says her life will never be the same but justice will bring her some peace.
