A grass fire broke out near Prue, Okla., in Osage County on Sunday afternoon.
Sky News 6 captured aerial footage of the fire, which has already burned nearly 40 acres of leaves and underbrush.
Officials say eight fire departments were called to the scene in Prue on Sunday, and the forestry service brought in two bulldozers to help keep the fire from spreading.
There have been no reported injuries, and only one building has been destroyed so far.
The wooded, rural area near Keystone Lake has been prone to grass fires in the past. Last summer, fires devastated neighboring Pawnee County, scorching more than 15,000 acres and leaving nearly 40 families without homes.
Because of continuing drought conditions, the state's dry vegetation serves as kindling. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, updated Feb. 21., portions of Osage County and Pawnee County are currently listed as "severe." (Check Oklahoma's drought map here.)
We'll keep you up to date as we learn more, Sunday at 9 and 10.
