TULSA, Oklahoma – ORU already had the regular season Summit League Championship and top seed wrapped up, but that didn't mean there wasn't anything to play for on Saturday.

The Golden Eagles set a school record by edging out Southern Utah 73-71 in their regular season finale.

ORU's 17th conference victory was a school record, and it reached 26 overall wins for the fifth time in school history.

It also beat the Thunderbirds for the 18th-straight time.

Dominique Morrison had a big game to lead the Golden Eagles with 24 points on 9-of-17 shooting. Roderick Pearson, Jr. added 15 points and Warren Niles joined them in double figures with 12.

The Golden Eagles shot 55 percent from both the field and from 3-point range.

Oral Roberts finished the regular season with 19 wins in its final 20 games and is hoping for an NCAA tournament bid even if it doesn't win the Summit League's automatic bid.

For now, the Golden Eagles will rest up and wait for the Summit League tournament, which begins March 3 in Sioux Falls, S.D.

ORU is the No. 1 overall seed and will take on 8th-seeded IPFW at 6 p.m. in the quarterfinals.

The Golden Eagles took down IPFW recently on Feb. 15, coming away with a narrow 75-71 win.
