Tulsa Police are investigating after a burglary at a liquor store near Second Street and Lewis Avenue led to a high-speed chase early Saturday morning.

An officer in an unmarked car arrived at the scene about 1:15 a.m. and witnessed robbers snatching bottles through a broken window and loading them into a vehicle.

According to police, the robbers noticed the unmarked vehicle, even staring straight into the dash cam, but continued to load the loot, seemingly unaware it was a patrol car.

When the officer turned on his lights, the robbers jumped into a silver Toyota Camry and fled. A high-speed chase ensued on North Lewis Avenue, until the Camry turned east on Archer Avenue, speeding through a residential neighborhood at more than 80 mph with no headlights.

The officer then halted the chase because of the danger it posed to those in the neighborhood, police said.

TPD is reviewing dash cam footage, which they are using to try and identify the robbers.
