A Cherokee County grand jury investigating the death of a Tahlequah man says it believes the people responsible for his death likely testified before the grand jury.
That is in the final report issued by the grand jury on the death of Stephen Adams.
In the report, the grand jury says "The Grand Jury believes that some of the witnesses that testified before the Grand Jury did testify falsely and recommend that the office of Brian Kuester, District Attorney, pursues criminal charges against those individuals who clearly have lied while testifying under oath."
The grand jury was seated in September 2011, after the father of Stephen Adams circulated a petition in July calling for an investigation into his disappearance in 2004.
Stephen Adams was last seen on December 13, 2004, after taking a test at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah. That same day, Stephen Adams called his girlfriend and said he was taking a man to Keys.
Witnesses report he was last seen at a store in the Cookson area and he was alone.

The grand jury said Adams was the victim of a homicide and that his body is located somewhere in eastern Oklahoma.
The grand jury concludes its report by saying it expects information it gathered "ultimately will lead to the arrest of the individual or individuals involved in his disappearance."
