A Tulsa man is in critical condition following the first shooting of 2012, according to Tulsa Police. The incident took place just before 2 a.m. at the Brown Apartments, 5300 E. 12th Street.

"Witnesses are stating that an argument started in front of Apartment 12 and spilled out into the central parking lot of the complex where one round was shot from a small caliber pistol," said Corporal Phil Snow with the Tulsa Police Department.

The bullet struck a man in the stomach area, Snow said. The victim was taken by private vehicle to a Tulsa hospital where he was admitted in critical condition.

Witnesses describe the suspect as a black male, 21 or 22 years of age, 5'9" tall and 160 pounds. He left the apartment complex in a small white vehicle, police say.
