A lost bet left a Tulsa woman begging for money in the street Friday.
Janette Turner says she and her neighbor made a bet that whoever lost their game of backgammon would have to panhandle. Janette lost so she hit the road to collect money, which her neighbor decided to match and donate to the food bank.
"I do a lot of community service there with the girl scouts, so I've volunteered there before and I know they're hurting this time of year and so I thought that'd be a good place to send all of our money," Turner said.
"It's kind of fun, it's kind of silly, its kind of embarrassing, but it's for a good cause so it's worth all the pennies and all the high fives and smiles," she added.
Janette had $142.27 by the end of the day. With her friend's match, that's close to $300 for the food bank!
