Sears Releases Partial Closing List; Oklahoma Spared

There are no Oklahoma stores on a partial list of planned closings of Sears and Kmart locations.

Sears Holding Corp. released a list Thursday of 79 stores that will close. The company announced earlier in the week that it planned to close between 100 and 120 stores because of dismal holiday sales. The company is to announce further closings at a point in the future.

The company says it wants to focus on revenue-producing stores and end its practice of propping up underperforming stores and hoping that sales will improve.
