A Tulsa company is delivering a dose of wellness right to your door. Employees are wrapping, moving and checking every crate twice for a New Year's gift of health.
Brett Puckett's parents were grocers, and he's been in the wholesale produce business for years. Now he's started packing special deliveries.
He's calling them Harvest Crates, and the idea came about organically.
"We've had a lot of companies outside contact us about wellness programs and bringing fruit to their employees for a healthy base," said Brett Puckett of Harvest Crates.
They say an apple a day will keep the doctor away, and that's what the folks behind Harvest Crates hope to promote: healthy living delivered right to your door.
"We really wanted to give it that old hometown wood crate feeling, like straight to your home. Right down to our tagline which is the original fast food," Puckett said.
"We can customize these and blend them anyway people want them," he said.
The company has developed a special layered crate to help with delivery.
"We went through about four or five different box designs to get to this one," Puckett said.
Each layer insures the fruit is in its best condition when it makes it to your door.
"The reason we designed the box the way we did is to maintain the integrity of the fruit in shipping. And it's all the way down to the insulation foam inside it," said Brett Puckett of Harvest Crates.
It's a different kind of present that the company says gives the gift of wellness this holiday season. They offer free shipping in Tulsa through the holiday season.
They also ship nationwide.
