A Tahlequah couple is in the Muskogee County jail after they were arrested Friday just before 9 p.m. on a complaint of child endangerment.
The couple was arrested after Fort Gibson Police were called by Cherokee Nation casino security to check on a 4-year-old girl left in a car seat in a locked car at the casino.
Police officers found the child's parents inside the casino and got the car unlocked.
The temperature outside at the time was 30 degrees.
David Smith, 41, and Tamara Vance, 47, were arrested at taken to jail. Both remain in jail without bond. A court date is set for Wednesday afternoon.
DHS released the child into the custody of a family member.
