Tulsa Police are doing their part to spread some Christmas cheer. Officers at the department's Riverside division have been collecting toys for children in need.
They wrapped them, and Wednesday, officers at Gilcrease division went around delivering them to hundreds of homes.
Captain Karen Tipler said officers on patrol recognize who's hurting, and that plays a big role in who gets their Christmas kindness.
"Working families are really struggling just to get the necessities made. So having the extras just for toys for their kids is something they may not be able to do. So we would just love to help them with that," Tipler said.
Thanks to the community's generosity, officers collected thousands of toys to give away.
