CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The No. 8 Xavier Musketeers were down to just eight scholarship players Sunday when they took on Oral Roberts and the Golden Eagles took advantage and came away with a 64-42 win.
The Musketeers struggled from the floor all night, making 17 of their 52 attempts from the floor and just one three-pointer all night. Additionally, Xavier had trouble holding onto the ball, turning it over 17 times, while only coming up with two steals in the game.
Oral Roberts was nothing short of dominant coming out of the gate, outscoring the Musketeers 36-19 in the opening half, hitting 45 percent of their field goals and five from behind the arc.
Dominique Morrison came away with a game-high 19 points, four rebounds and four assists, while Warren Niles turned in 15 points and seven assists in the win.
Travis Taylor led the charge for the Musketeers, finishing with 11 points and nine rebounds. Dee Davis was the only other Xavier player to score double-digits, coming away with 10.
The Golden Eagles have just one more game before Christmas and conference play, a 7:05 p.m. matchup in the Mabee Center against Texas Tech.
