Tulsa Major Dewey Bartlett announced two new City staff members during a news conference Wednesday, December 7.

Former U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Oklahoma, David O'Meilia, will fill the role of City Attorney effective January 3, 2012. He is leaving his position at a private law firm.

Jarred Brejcha, the City's current Director of Intergovernmental and Enterprise Development will take the Chief of Staff position. He brings seven years of experience in public relations and police work to the job.

The city attorney is a civil service position while the chief of staff serves at the mayor's appointment.

Funeral services were held Tuesday for interim City Attorney David Pauling. Bartlett's former Chief of Staff Terry Simonson resigned this year over a favoritism controversy that involved his son's application to work for the Tulsa Fire Department.
