A man who escaped from an Oklahoma prison in 2006 has pleaded guilty in east central Ohio on a charge of breaking and entering and attempting to escape from jail.

Steven Capps, 38, escaped from the Hamilton Correctional Center in Hodgen, Oklahoma in August 2006.

Capps told Ohio authorities after his escape, he settled near Buckeye Lake, Ohio east of Columbus. He says he lived on a boat for a time.

Capp was arrested in May 2011 after a burglary of a gas station and told police his name was Steven Martin. A fingerprint check turned up the Oklahoma escape.

Capp was serving a 10-year sentence out of McIntosh County for obtaining property by trick or deception when he escaped.

Ohio authorities say Capp will be returned to Oklahoma to finish his sentence before being brought back to Ohio where he faces a 31 year prison sentence.
