Eastern Oklahoma Food Bank Receives Huge Donation

The Association of Oklahoma General Contractors donated five palettes of food to the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma Tuesday.

Thanks to that generous gift, the food bank will be able to give out nearly 8,000 meals between now and Thanksgiving.

It all started with a challenge from the Governor.

"Couple of weeks ago the governor challenged us to raise double what we did last year. Last year we raised four and a half tons of food, this year we've raised nine tons of food," said Bobby Stem, Ex Director of AOGC.

The Community Food Bank distributes to programs in 24 counties, feeding nearly 60,000 people a week.
