Starting early next year Tulsa's Parks and Recreation Department will begin implementation the city's Parks Master Plan.
Tulsa Parks Master Plan includes updating parks and facilities to address changing needs and desires within the community, updating non-performing obsolete park facilities with modern amenities and ensuring access for all citizens to park amenities.
"The Tulsa community deserves to have updated amenities in our parks and with guidance from the Tulsa Parks Master Plan, the Parks & Recreation Department will begin a streamlined implementation at the beginning of the year. We hope to have most all of the parks updated by summer 2012," Mayor Dewey Bartlett said.
Per the recommendations of the Parks Master Plan, nine outdated parks will be updated, including: Turner, Springdale, Heller, Franklin, Clark, Manion, Zeigler, Hill and Maxwell.
The Parks & Recreation Department will unveil its plans with renderings and timelines posted as construction begins at the city of Tulsa Parks website.
