TULSA, Oklahoma -- New research shows one of every five students nationwide feels unsafe at school because they're being bullied.

That's why Partners in Education is teaming up with Hornsby, the Tulsa Drillers mascot, to help area kids stand up for themselves.

"The three key points, telling the bully to stop, looking the bully in the eye, and reporting it to an adult. It is very important that an adult knows what's going on and that they do something about it," said Justin Gorski of the Tulsa Drillers.

Hornsby will join puppets Clare and Eddie to perform skits at Tulsa elementary schools. The goals are to get the message across to kids that abuse is not ok, and it's not the victim's fault.

The number of bullying incidents in Tulsa Public Schools has increased in recent years. School leaders say that's in part because of better tracking.
