TULSA, Oklahoma -- Emergency personnel were dispatched to a construction project at the old Tulsa City Hall, 4th and Frisco, for a possible rescue effort after a worker was injured.

Two men were working on air conditioning equipment in a lower level of the parking garage near the building just before noon Monday. Tulsa firefighters say part of the system slipped and temporarily trapped a man's leg from the ankle down.

His co-workers had freed him when firefighters arrived.

The man is being transported to a local hospital and is expected to be ok.

The privately owned building is being redeveloped by Brickhugger LLC. The company purchased the building for $1.2 million and plans to make it a 200 room hotel with 60,000 square feet of shopping and restaurants.

The purchase was approved by the Tulsa Development Authority in July of 2010.
