The only real issue for the next several days will be some fire danger concerns, particularly by Tuesday, and the timing of our next significant cold front and the chances of showers or storms that will accompany that system. I say our next significant cold front because a weak frontal boundary will be arriving during the day Sunday. It will not amount to much more than a wind shift though as S to SW winds ahead of it will shift to the NW behind it. It is moisture starved so there will be no mention of rain and in fact we will still have plenty of sunshine all day Sunday.

Also, after a rather breezy day today, the weak pressure gradient associated with this system should keep the winds generally around 10 or 12 mph or less for Sunday. The southerly wind component through the overnight hours will also keep us a bit milder with most locations in the 40s to start the day Sunday. Since this does not amount to much more than a wind shift, daytime temperatures should still reach well into the 60s for Sunday afternoon.

Monday will start off clear and chilly with light winds and temperatures near 40. But, southerly winds will quickly return and become rather gusty by afternoon. Under the sunny skies, we should moderate back into the lower 70s that afternoon and fair skies are expected for the trick or treaters Monday night. The southerly winds should also keep temperatures fairly mild through the evening hours with most locations in the upper 50s to lower 60s by 8PM.

Tuesday will be sunny and along with gusty southerly winds there will be an enhanced fire danger once again. Moisture will be returning during the day resulting in somewhat higher humidity levels which should help some. The moisture will be more evident on Wednesday with mostly cloudy skies and increasing chances of showers or storms through the overnight hours and into the morning of Thursday. The timing of this system remains an issue as the longer range guidance remain at odds with one another. Right now, will go with frontal passage early Thursday with the best chances of rain late Wednesday night and through Thursday morning.

Thursday looks to be cloudy, windy and cool with lingering morning showers and not clearing till late in the day. We should get a break on Friday but another, even stronger system looks to be taking shape in time for the coming weekend.

So, stay tuned and check back for updates.
