CATOOSA, Oklahoma -- A bit of Route 66 history has been saved north and east of Catoosa.

A 220-foot steel truss that once carried the highway over the Verdigris River has found a new home nearby.

The owners of Molly's Landing contracted with Manhattan Road and Bridge, along with Oklahoma Department of Transportation, to have the section of the old bridge moved to their property.

It's now part of the landscaping at their restaurant which is just off the Verdigris River.

Construction crews continue to work on building a new westbound bridge over the Verdigris River.

ODOT expects the new bridge to be open by December 2011.
