Officers took Rlando Bowie into custody late Thursday afternoon.
He faces a number of charges - including rape and robbery - in what one veteran police officer called "one of the worst beatings he's seen in 15 years."
Police say Bowie kicked in the back door of the victim's home on June 6, 2011. They say he threatened the victim with a pistol, raped her, and stole money.
The victim's young daughters were at home during the attack, but weren't hurt.
