TULSA, Oklahoma -- The rain across much of northeastern Oklahoma Thursday was good news as much of the area picked up some healthy rain totals.
News On 6 meteorologist Mike Grogan says some of the heaviest rains fell from the Tulsa area to the east along the U.S. Highway 412 corridor.
Grogan says this rain exactly what the doctor ordered as we head into another relatively long stretch of dry weather.
The latest Drought Monitor for Oklahoma came out on Thursday, which does not account for Thursday's rain, but it did bring a little good news.
Grogan says the exceptional drought or worst drought category was scaled back to the west a bit after the weekend rainfall in northeastern Oklahoma.
