Wheeler was picked up August 18th, 2011 on a separate charge, but was just recently charged in the Jenks case.
Police say Wheeler was breaking into a truck in Jenks back in July when the 22-year-old owner surprised him.
Police say Wheeler stabbed the victim in the back of the neck, possibly with a screwdriver, and then took off.
The victim, named Austin, laid on the ground, bleeding and yelling for help, for about 30 minutes until a passing driver stopped.
Austin is expected to make a full recovery.
Wheeler remains in the Tulsa County Jail.
