ONG Offers Rebates Through New Energy-Efficiency Program

TULSA, Oklahoma -- Oklahoma's largest natural gas utility is offering a $30 cash rebate.

Oklahoma Natural Gas [ONG] announced Thursday, a new energy-efficiency program that will provide substantial cash rebates to customers who choose to upgrade to new, more efficient natural gas appliances.

"We are serious about encouraging our customers to be more energy efficient," said Oklahoma Natural Gas Company President Greg Phillips. "We believe that natural gas is the best, most efficient and environmentally responsible energy choice for heating your home, heating the water you use and drying your clothes. We're excited about this new program that will help our customers make smart appliance choices, allowing them to save money on their utility bills for years to come."

The Oklahoma Natural Gas energy-efficiency program includes:

• A $30 cash rebate for customers who have their furnaces inspected by a licensed contractor.
• Rebates of up to $850 to upgrade to more efficient natural gas water heaters including tankless water heaters.
• Rebates of up to $1950 for upgrading heating systems to efficient natural gas models.
• Rebates of up to $680 for conversion to natural gas clothes dryers.
• A $750 incentive for building a new home that follows Oklahoma Natural Gas energy efficiency guidelines.

ONG is also planning to make $250,000 available to social service agencies to help low-income Oklahoma families be more energy efficient.
