WAGONER, Oklahoma -- Wagoner residents attended a meeting Tuesday organized by the police to address three unsolved sexual assaults.

Two of the assaults -- on August 2, 2011, and August 17, 2011 -- involved elderly women who had left the doors to their homes unlocked. The third attack -- on August 28, 2011 -- involved a younger victim and occurred outside a home.

Wagoner Police Chief Bob Haley says he still believes the same person committed the first two attacks but not the third.

Wagoner enlisted the help of Muskogee Police to start a neighborhood watch program and a citizens academy.

The big message was: look out for your neighbor and be aware of your surroundings.

"I am a stay at home mom, so it kinda freaked me out a little bit," said Rachel Wofford at the meeting. "I actually set my alarm during the day at my house."

Hailey took questions from residents hoping to set the facts straight, but admitting he couldn't release many details - which caused some frustration.

"They didn't give us anything else then what we already know. I flat out asked him if they have a person of interest and they narrowed it down to a 1000 people," said Wagoner resident Heather Cordoba

The meeting, which was held at the high school's Performing Arts Center, started at 6 p.m.

Wagoner police say they have interviewed several persons of interest and increased patrols through out the city.

Police want everyone in the city to be on the lookout. They're asking anyone with information which can help investigators to contact them at 918-485-5511.
