TULSA, Oklahoma – The Shock's good fortunes could only take them so far.
After rattling off a season-high two straight wins, Tulsa fell 96-74 at home to Phoenix on Tuesday.
The Shock (3-26) looked more like the pre-winning streak Shock in the loss, trailing by as many as 28 points during the game.
One bright spot for the Shock was rookie center Liz Cambage, who led the team with 16 points and six boards. She had five turnovers, however, and fouled out.
Ivory Latta and Amber Holt both scored in double digits as well for the Shock.
Dianna Taurasi and DeWanna Bonner combined for 48 points for the Mercury.
The Shock have five games remaining, beginning with a 7 p.m. showdown against Seattle on Friday.
