WAGONER, Oklahoma -- A man is dead after a police-involved shooting in Wagoner late Tuesday night. He has been identified as 58-year-old Charles W. Hundle of Coweta.
The shooting happened at the McDonald's at State Highway 51 and U.S. Highway 69 around 9:30 p.m.
Wagoner Police say a man went into the McDonald's restaurant and started causing a scene. Someone inside called for help and when police arrived, the man was outside in the parking lot.
Hundle attacked the officer with a knife "resulting in officers shooting and killing him," according to a release by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
The suspect was transported to a Wagoner hospital where he was pronounced dead.
No one else was hurt.
Wagoner Police says the officer is now on routine suspension while the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation investigates the shooting.
