Bixby Man Arrested In Washington On Child Sex Charges

BIXBY, Oklahoma -- A man facing allegations of child sexual abuse in Bixby was picked up by US Marshals Sunday in Washington state.

Eckhard Gasnik is facing 5 counts of sexual abuse on a child and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

His wife – Mary Gasnik -- was arrested and charged with permitting the alleged sexual abuse and failing to protect the child.

According to Bixby police, the suspect took off to Seattle on August 8, 2011, the same day a search warrant was issued for his residence on East 121st Street.

Following a lead, agents from the US Marshal's office were able to locate Eckhard weeks later and arrest him at a home in Ocean Park, Washington.

The suspect is currently being held in a Washington jail awaiting extradition back to Oklahoma.
