TULSA, Oklahoma -- Tulsa International Airport is one of the first airports in the United States to get new imaging technology to scan boarding passengers – without invading their privacy.
The new software, called Automated Target Recognition, eliminates the personal scan of each passenger and replaces it with a generic, computer-generated outline.
The Transportation Security Administration says the new software safely screens passengers for metallic and nonmetallic threats – including explosives – without physical contact.
The TSA gave the News on 6 a demonstration of the new technology Wednesday morning.
