TULSA, Oklahoma -- Police arrested a 44-year-old Tulsa man Tuesday evening for stealing copper wire.

Tulsa Police were called to the 100 block of South Memorial after a report of someone cutting wires from utility poles.

Officers say they arrested Scotty Ameecher after they discovered his backpack was full of cut copper wire.

He was taken to the Tulsa County jail and booked on a complaint of larceny of copper cable.
