LITLLE ROCK, ARKANSAS – After several stretches of high-scoring games this season, the Drillers are back to struggling offensively again.
Tulsa dropped a 3-1 contest to close out a series with the Arkansas Travelers on the road on Monday.
The Travelers got on the board first in the second inning, with RBIs from Chris Pettit and Roberto Lopez.
They added another run in the bottom of the fourth on a wild pitch from Rob Scahill to take a 3-0 lead, and it was all they would need.
Tulsa's only run of the night came in the top of the eighth on a single from Tim Wheeler.
Scahill picked up the loss for the Drillers, giving up three runs and eight hits in six innings. Eddie McKiernan picked up the win on the mound for Arkansas.
The Drillers will now have a seven-game homestand, taking on Northwest Arkansas for three games followed by Springfield for four.
The first game against the Naturals is set for 7:05 p.m. Tuesday at ONEOK Field.
