TULSA, Oklahoma -- Three ace mechanics were honored for their high-flying careers at American Airlines Friday.

The FAA recognized Ralph Grunhof, Prince Street, and Jim Roddy for 50 years of keeping planes in the air.

The master mechanics were quick to give credit to their co-workers when talking about their favorite memories.

"The people I've meet and the work, I can't say one is more important that the other... because without the people you can't ge the work done," said Prince Street.

The "Charles Taylor Master Mechanic" Award is named after the mechanic who worked with the Wright Brothers on their first flight.
