Tulsa Man Arrested After Accidentally Shooting Roommate

TULSA, Oklahoma -- One man was wounded and another arrested in an accidental shooting overnight Friday. Tulsa police responded to the call at 12:26 a.m. in the 400 block of South 59th West Avenue.

Police say two men who share a home were preparing for a confrontation with a neighbor, when one of the roommates went to get a gun. Kyle Hubbarth, 29, was checking the pistol to see if it was loaded and accidentally shot his roommate, 44-year-old Jack Stewart.

Stewart was shot in the torso and was taken to a local hospital where he is expected to recover.

Hubbarth was booked into Tulsa County Jail on a complaint of possessing a firearm after a felony conviction.
