TULSA, Oklahoma - The final 5A girls quarterfinal featured a pair of teams that have faced some ups and downs this year.
Both Booker T. Washington and Carl Albert have suffered through a few tough losses, but they both strung together enough wins at the right time to make it to the state quarterfinals.
In the end, however, Booker T. Washington held on for a 47-43 win and advanced to the next round, while Carl Albert was sent packing.
The Lady Titans and Lady Hornets played a very close game. The two teams went back and forth throughout the first half. But late in the third quarter, BTW got hot. Early in the fourth, the Lady Hornets had expanded their lead to 41-28. Carl Albert did close the gap down the stretch, but the Lady Hornets held on to pick up the victory.
Carl Albert ends its season with a record of 17-10. Meanwhile, Booker T. Washington moves on to the state semifinals. Their next game will be Friday at 9 p.m. at the Mabee Center against No. 2 East Central.
