SAPULPA, Oklahoma – The area round of the postseason got started on Thursday for our area’s teams. And one of the tightest games of the night was in Sapulpa.
Stillwater and Claremore met in an elimination game on Thursday night. And this one was tight the entire way.
The Lady Cowboys opened the game on an 8-1 run, but the Lady Zebras wouldn’t go away and had cut that deficit to 2 at the end of the first. At the half, Claremore had taken a 4 point lead. Things got even closer in the 3rd, and after 3 quarters, Stillwater was up by 1. But in the 4th, Claremore pulled away. And the Lady Zebras pick up the 32-29 win.
That loss ends Stillwater’s season. As for Claremore, they advance to a state qualifying game. That game will be on Saturday when they take on Enid.
