CHOCTAW, Oklahoma -- After an official visit to Kansas State, Choctaw defensive end Hunter Davis officially switched his commitment from the Golden Hurricane to the Wildcats.
Despite the commitment coming at the end of an official visit, it wasn’t a snap decision from Davis.
“I had been leaning toward Kansas State for a couple of weeks before I went up there,” Davis said. “I ended up doing it over the weekend, but it was something I had been thinking about doing for a couple of weeks.”
Davis had visited the Manhattan campus before, but in on an unofficial visit. After spending time at Kansas State meeting players and students, Davis knew he wanted to be a Wildcat.
“Going for an official visit makes it so much different, you see it through more of a student’s eyes,” Davis said. “On an unofficial visit you go around with the coaches and see the facilities. When you go around with a player, you get to meet the students and see some of the places you’re going to be.”
The senior defensive end committed to Tulsa in July before his senior season, but was pursued by other schools as National Signing Day approached.
