BARTLESVILLE, Oklahoma—Bartlesville defensive end Devin Randall will no longer play football at the University of Tulsa next season.
Instead, Randall will pursue a track scholarship at the University of Arkansas.
"Devin came in and told me he just wants to go to Arkansas and throw shot and discus," said Bartlesville head coach Ron Smith.
Randall is the current reigning 6A champion in both the shot-put and discus.
Last season for the Bruins, the 6-foot-five senior racked up 13.5 sacks on the year.
"People are telling him he can throw the discus in the Olympics, he gets up at 6 a.m. and lifts in preparation," said Smith.
Randall continues his preparation for the upcoming Spring track season that begins the first weekend in March.
Tuesday Tulsa head coach Todd Graham announced he would leave the program to be the head coach at Pittsburgh. Then Thursday offensive coordinator Chad Morris accepted the same position at Clemson University.
