Irish Hold off Norman North to Advance to Championship

OKLAHOMA CITY—The Bishop McGuinness Fighting Irish held their own in Semifinal play against Norman North to beat the Timberwolves 54-50 and advance to the championship game of the McGuinness Classic.
At the end of the first quarter of play, McGuinness had a seven point advantage and by halftime they increased the lead to 33-25.
McGuinness senior Joe Edmonds led all scorers with 24 points, while Norman North was paced Patrick Schaefer by who finished with 16 points.
McGuinnness will take on Northwest Classen in the tournament championship Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
The Irish enter the championship game with the goal of making it their fourth tournament title in the last five years.
Deer Creek will face Norman North for third place Saturday at 6:00 p.m.
