TULSA, Oklahoma – It is high school basketball tournament time all around the state. And one of the best games of the day on Thursday was the last game of the day.
The Bishop Kelley Invitational started on Thursday and the host team played in the final game of the night. The Comets took on Sand Springs and this game was a thriller.
The Sandites opened the game on fire, but the Comets wouldn’t let it get too far out of reach. They struck back with a run of their own and that was just the start of a very back and forth game.
These two teams ended up going to overtime. And the Sandites pick up the big win as they knock off the defending tournament champs 73-70.
Bishop Kelley will be back on the court on Friday at 5:30 when they play Skiatook in the consolation semifinals. Sand Springs now moves on to the championship semifinals where they’ll play Bishop McGuinness. That game will be Friday night at 8:30.
