Spiro Bulldogs Explode Late to top Nowata

SPIRO, Oklahoma -- The Spiro Bulldogs advanced to the third round of the Class 3A Playoffs Friday with a 49-27 win over the Nowata Ironmen.

The Bulldogs (11-1) led by just eight points with six minutes left in the game, but Spiro broke it open in the final minutes.

Two long touchdown drives – including a 30-yard rushing touchdown – was enough to put the game out of reach for the Ironmen (7-5).

Spiro will now travel to Oklahoma City to take on the Heritage Hall Chargers, who are coming off a 34-0 win over the Bridge Creek Bobcats.
