OOLOGAH, Oklahoma – The Wagoner Bulldogs used a late turnover to pull away and stay undefeated with a 29-14 win over the Oologah Mustangs Friday.
Both defenses played well for much of the game, and the teams entered the fourth quarter tied 7-7. Wagoner (7-0, 4-0) scored early in the fourth quarter, but Oologah (6-1, 3-1) responded to tie the score again.
The Bulldogs scored again to retake the lead, and followed by forcing a costly fumble. They scored another touchdown and converted a two-point conversion on the ensuing drive to clinch the win.
Both teams entered the day undefeated, and the Bulldogs’ victory puts them in prime position to finish as district champion with three games left in the season. They will face Catoosa (6-1, 3-1) next week, while Oologah will play Miami (2-5, 2-2).
