YUKON, Oklahoma – The Yukon Millers pulled away in the second half for a 35-21 win over the Eisenhower Eagles Friday.
The Eagles (4-2, 2-1) started the scoring in the first quarter and led for the most of the first half. Yukon (5-1, 2-1) scored a 41-yard touchdown with time running down in the half to take a 20-14 lead, and never looked back.
The Millers scored two touchdowns less than two minutes apart in the fourth quarter for a total of 23 unanswered points to extend the lead to 35-14. Lawton Ike added a late touchdown, but never really threatened the lead.
Yukon’s offense has been on fire to start the season, having scored at least 35 points in all five of the Millers’ wins. They will continue district play next week against Putnam City North (2-4, 1-2), while Eisenhower will face Edmond Memorial (5-1, 2-1).
